Strip brushes
Strip brushes consist of a U-shaped metal profile (base) in which the filament is continuously arranged. There are two types of metal base: single tape and double tape. In the simple tape base, the most traditional, the filament is clamped between the U-bent tape and the sealing wire. In the double tape base, the filament is clamped between the outer (toothed) tape and the inner tape. The plain tape is by far the most widely used. Double tape is used for particularly heavy-duty applications. Strip brushes are subdivided into: spiral, linear and interchangeable sector brushes.

Specifications
Generality
Due to their constitution, strip brushes are particularly suitable for forming medium to large linear elements or rollers. They are also less versatile and less precise than punched brushes.
The width B of the base is a key element in the definition of the brush strip. On this depends (among other parameters) the amount of filament that can be mounted and the degree of stress the brush can withstand.
The cross-section of the metal bases and the side view for the double belt base are shown in the figure. The table shows the relevant dimensions as a function of base B.
